ATTENTION NORTHERN ONTARIO MENTAL HEALTH ORGANIZATIONS:
Do you have members who express themselves best in writing?
Members who want to write their life stories or story of recovery?
Northern Initiative for Social Action (NISA) is seeking interest from Northern Ontario mental health organizations and consumer/survivor initiatives who want to be considered for an in-depth memoir writing workshop in Fall 2015. The workshop is called “Mental Pencil: Telling Your Life Stories”. NISA is currently applying for funding to take our Mental Pencil workshop your community in Fall 2015, in person or online, to help your members tell their life stories and/or story of recovery. If you have members who turn to writing for self-expression, this may be of interest to your organization.
This opportunity is dependent on funding, but if we can show the funder this is something you want to offer to your membership, it will make our case even stronger. By indicating your interest, you are not committing your organization to the workshop, simply stating your interest. Once funding has been approved, we will work out the specific details of the plan with our Northern Ontario partners.
If you are interested in putting your organization’s name forward for this opportunity, please ask your organization’s leader to fill out the short survey at this link by Friday, October 3, 2014.
You can also download this Call for Interest and submit your responses by mail. Direct it to: Dinah Laprairie, Northern Intiative for Social Action, 36 Elgin Street, 2nd Floor, Sudbury, ON P3C 5B4
We are also seeking writers in the Greater Sudbury area with experience of mental health issues to express their interest in the Writer-in-Residence position associated with this project. Click here for details.
